Weather Changes and Flexible Portugal Itineraries
Private travel allows more room to respond when weather or local conditions change. Portugal Magik first looks for a safe adjustment, alternative route or available replacement date rather than treating the day as a fixed script.
Safety comes before the original plan
Severe weather, natural conditions, road closures, safety restrictions and decisions by local authorities can make part of a trip unsafe or impossible to operate. The final operating decision rests with Portugal Magik and the relevant authorities.
The itinerary can change shape
Whenever possible, the team will adjust the itinerary, offer an alternative route or experience, or reschedule the affected service. A private itinerary makes this response more personal than simply following a fixed group schedule.
Only the affected part needs attention
On a multi-day journey, a local issue does not necessarily undo the full trip. The team can review the affected service, day or portion while preserving the parts that remain safe and practical.
Unused eligible amounts become long-term credit
If an affected service cannot operate, amounts paid and not used for that service, day or portion are issued as travel credit for future use, valid for up to five years and subject to availability.
Third-party conditions still matter
If your booking includes third-party arrangements such as tickets or hotels, their suppliers may apply their own conditions. The complete Booking Terms explain the details that apply to your confirmed booking.
Frequently asked questions
Will a tour always be cancelled because of rain?
No. The team first considers safe itinerary adjustments, alternative routes or rescheduling. The decision depends on the actual conditions and guidance from local authorities.
Who decides whether a service can operate?
The final decision rests with Portugal Magik and, where relevant, local authorities, with guest safety as the priority.
What happens to an affected unused amount?
The eligible unused amount for the affected service, day or portion is issued as travel credit valid for up to five years.
Can one changed day cancel the whole itinerary?
Not necessarily. On a multi-day trip, the team can review the affected portion while keeping the rest of the itinerary in place when practical.
