  3. Day 3 — Sintra, Cabo da Roca & Cascais
Travel to the romantic forested hills of Sintra, where fairy-tale palaces and noble estates are nestled among the lush greenery. Visit the colorful Pena Palace, marveling at its eclectic architecture and sweeping views over the Atlantic coastline, before exploring Sintra's historic town center. Continue along the dramatic coast via Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, returning through the charming seaside town of Cascais and the coastal road of Estoril.
  4. Day 4 — Evora UNESCO Heritage & Relaxed Alentejo Winery Day
Journey east into the gentle rolling plains and olive groves of the Alentejo region to explore the UNESCO World Heritage city of Evora. Enjoy free time for lunch on your own at an authentic Alentejo tavern before returning to Lisbon in the late afternoon.
  5. Day 5 — Arrabida Natural Park & Azeitao
Head south across the 25th of April Bridge toward the dramatic limestone peaks and azure waters of the Arrabida Natural Park. Take in spectacular ocean vistas from the coastal mountain road before visiting the fishing town of Sesimbra and the historic town of Azeitao. Savor an artisanal cheese tasting and explore traditional tile-making heritage before an easy return to Lisbon for an evening at leisure.
  6. Day 6 — Scenic Journey North via Obidos & Nazare
Depart Lisbon and begin your northbound journey, stopping first at the enchanting medieval walled village of Obidos to wander its cobblestone alleys and enjoy a taste of local ginjinha liqueur in a chocolate cup. In the late afternoon, arrive in the historic university city of Coimbra for check-in and an evening at leisure.
  7. Day 7 — Historic Coimbra to the Douro Valley
Today belongs to the Douro Valley, where terraced vineyards drop down to the river. In the morning you step aboard a private 1-hour boat trip on the Douro, seeing the valley from the water. Back on land, the drive follows the panoramic roads above Pinhao and Peso da Regua, stopping at the best viewpoints. In the afternoon a family run quinta welcomes you for a Douro wine tasting, with time to walk the vines before the day closes.
  8. Day 8 — Lamego and the Douro Viewpoints
A second day in the Douro Valley, away from the river and deeper into the villages and estates of the region. The morning follows the high panoramic roads towards Sao Joao da Pesqueira and Casal de Loivos, with time in Lamego or one of the small granite villages. In the afternoon a different family quinta welcomes you for a tasting of their own wines and Ports alongside local bread, cheese and olive oil.
